George Shardlow has served as ECC's Executive Director, since 2024. In that capacity, he leads the organization's advocacy, fundraising and long-term strategic planning. George is driven to do this work out of two convictions: people should be able to afford their basic needs and they should have their voices heard in policy discussions that impact their lives. George brings a decade of lobbying experience across corporate, government and NGO sectors. He holds a Bachelor's in Political Science and Spanish from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa and a Master's of Public Policy from the University of Minnesota's Humphrey School of Public Affairs. Outside of work his energy is spent on chasing a toddler and a rescue pup, date nights on East Lake Street with his better half, baking sourdough, and weeding his native pollinator garden.
