CenterPoint Energy Gas Customers

Low Income Rental Efficiency Program

The service area includes all of CenterPoint Energy gas territory in Minnesota.

If you are a renter who is income qualified, receive a grant from the Energy Assistance Program, or are a Section 8, WIC or SNAP participant, you may qualify for our program.  Please contact your landlord about participating. 

If you are a rental property owner and at least ½ of the tenants in your building are considered low income, please call our office or see our application below to apply.

The CenterPoint Energy Low Income Rental Efficiency Program is designed to target higher usage 1-4 unit rental properties in CenterPoint Energy’s gas territory.  We work with landlords to help improve their properties and lower tenants’ gas bills.  CenterPoint Energy could pay up to 50% of the cost of all improvements.

Based on audit recommendations, we may:

  • Replace the furnace/boiler

  • Replace the water heater

  • Insulate attics and walls

  • Address related health and safety concerns or repairs
